Dracula

Wonderful to me in so many ways. Especially since I recently finished Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Phillips Brothers Coral Tiara

"Phillips Brothers, in which the dominant partner was Robert Phillips, were the leading supplier of coral goods in London, as well as being important goldsmiths and jewellers. In 1870 the firm advertised that it had 'the most complete collection of fine coral work in the world'. Robert Phillips received the order of the Crown of Italy for his services to the coral industry in Naples." (Source: V&A )

We all Scream illustrated ice-cream recipes

I'd like to try these myself—sans the champagne and porter. I just need to get an ice-cream maker first. More recipes from We All Scream.

If many of my instagram photos and tweets recently revolve around food, it's because I've been obsessing over (alternative-food?) recipes.
It started ever since my older sister was tested for Food Intolerance. We all get the same reaction after reading the test results—for us or for others—wondering what's left to eat when you can't consume the most common ingredients: dairy, wheat, eggs, yeast, gluten, etc.

Eating out becomes a challenge—you can't control what goes in the food you're ordering. So you're left to buy and cook your own food, since you can monitor the ingredients.
I've been experimenting with cooking and baking, with the former being more successful than the latter. I've yet to try things like Tofu omelette, and Wheat-Egg-Dairy-Gluten-Yeast-free pancakes.

I thought getting this book would solve my lack of baked goods, but it's never that easy. The first baking trial of Blondies ended up dry (but not Biscotti dry) and smelling like dough. To be fair, the author stated she prefers certain ingredient brands over others, so we probably didn't have ingredients stellar enough to make a successful batch.

Scout's Honor Co. stamps

Seeing this on Scout's Honor Co. blog made me miss those days when we used to write letters to our cousins. We used to draw on the stationary (envelopes especially) whatever we were into at the time - mostly video games and comics characters.
This would be the grown-up version of those letters: a stamp which will turn plain envelopes into personalized stationary.

I think I was also inclined to blog about this since the photos feature stamps of Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch, when I just posted about To Kill a Mockingbird not too long ago. I suppose it's a nod to their name, Scout's Honor Co.

To Kill a Mockingbird

If I were to recommend one summer book/movie, it would be To Kill a Mockingbird. If I never recommended it before, it's because it's such a classic most likely everyone have read and/or seen it already. Though because it's an obvious choice, many might have overlooked it and haven't had the chance to enjoy it. Moreover, if you've read the book, try the movie. Or the other way around.

Leif Skincare

I have to say, sometimes I come across something so good that I get this knee-jerk reaction, this tingling sensation around my jaw; like I want to make like a python and swallow it. I suppose that's why the word 'delicious' extends to more than just food and drink.
In any case, it happened just now when I saw Leif skincare line. I'm shameless for wanting their products when I still have new, nearly full bottles of skincare paraphernalia on my bathroom shelf. Leif is looking for stockists at the moment, so I don't have to worry about giving in to temptation. For now.

Bathtime in Fall

Buying bath miscellanea is a seasonal thing to me. And the items at Terrain seem to fit the bill.

school supplies

To be honest, stationary and school supplies are the farthest thing from my mind right now. But that doesn't mean I can't admire the goods at P&C.

Doyald Young books

I've been going through my (wish?)list, editing out items that I was no longer interested in buying, when I came across Doyald Young's page which I bookmarked months ago. They're a fine set of books, I'm sure. But a little too steep for me to buy anytime soon. I'm still keeping them on the list, for now.
