The House of Mirth: Book Jacket

Since she had read The Age of Innocence, I have been wanting to get my sister a copy of The House of Mirth.
And since I was to make a gift of it, I wanted to find her the best edition available: one with not only an attractive cover, but crisp, sharp text that's easy on the eyes.
I found one that had the latter, but wasn't too happy with the cover.
So over the weekend, I designed and printed a book jacket.

The House of Mirth is written in the style of a novel of manners and in the first few chapters, several names pop-up in conversations and events. This makes it hard for the first time reader to keep track of characters names, their backgrounds and their relationship to each other. To solve this issue, I placed brief characters' profiles on the book jacket's inner flaps for instant access and easy reference.

Or you can see it for yourself next time you're in Mercato.
It's right next to the Hugo Boss store.

Making little invitations

... for my little niece's party.

Also, I got a box of Magnolia's cupcakes. It's hard to imagine anyone eating more than one; they're a diabetic's nightmare! I had to wipe off the icing to be able to finish the last couple of bites.
If you wanted to swear off cupcakes for a while, just overdose have a couple of Magnolias.

2010 Calendar

To be honest, I didn't plan or think of having a calendar made around mid-December. I imagine you need at least a few months to plan, print, and have them ready by November.
But I thought I'd give myself about week to try and see what I can come up with. A few days (and trials) later, I ended up with a few dozen that I plan on sending out as means of self-promotion.
You can see more photos here.
