Which one is it?

To be honest, I'd rather be the latter.

Scout's Honor Co. stamps

Seeing this on Scout's Honor Co. blog made me miss those days when we used to write letters to our cousins. We used to draw on the stationary (envelopes especially) whatever we were into at the time - mostly video games and comics characters.
This would be the grown-up version of those letters: a stamp which will turn plain envelopes into personalized stationary.

I think I was also inclined to blog about this since the photos feature stamps of Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch, when I just posted about To Kill a Mockingbird not too long ago. I suppose it's a nod to their name, Scout's Honor Co.

O, they may get over it but they'll never look the same

Sometime back in May, I was listening to an episode from Stuff You Missed in History Class entitled 'A Pure Food Father and His Poison Squad'. It talked about Harvey Wiley in late 1800s and his experiments with food additives which were likely to be toxic. The healthy men who volunteered to ingest poisons in their food were dubbed the 'Poison Squad' by the press.
Interesting topic aside, I tweeted to the podcast hosts that "Harvey Wiley and the Poison Squad" sounds almost like a band name, to which they agreed.
I mostly forgot about it until Harvey Wiley was mentioned again in a recent episode from NPR: Your Health. I began doodling logos and emblems, imagining what sort of identity the Poison Squad would have.

After thought

I didn't think of it at the time, but the quote in my last post reminds me of those description lines your read in people's profiles these days.

Something like: "the Italian-born, Tokyo-based artist exhibiting a selection of images in London documenting life in Chicago."

Have I done this before?

They say it's hard to experience the same thing twice. Even if the circumstances are identical, the outcome will differ. This evening, however, I feel like I've been visited by a ghost of the past.

Camera dilema

Both of my cameras our out of order at the moment. The SLR's lens needs a good thorough clean, since it mysteriously accumulated some form of grain that jams its mechanism. And the point and shoot's docking station refuses to charge.
My intentions are good, and I'd like to fix both problems. But there's a camera siren singing me to buy it, and it's oh so tempting.
